So yeah, Im at Uni right now (I am writing my Oral Presentation on the Oh-so Interesting Topic of 'Why is Australia considered a Liberal-Democratic State?'

I'm really loving Japanese Class, as well as Politics and European Studies. I'm HATING french, and might drop it next year (which will anger my family, but meh, i dont care)

So anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know that I am planning on writing a Kyou Kara Maoh fic, and its planned for six to eight chapters at the moment. I've written the first in pre-edit mode.

Here's the synopsis:

Yuuram (of course). After Yuuri and Wolfram have a fight, they find themselves transported into an alternate ShinMakoku in which Conrad is an evil dictator, Gwendal is missing presumed dead and Gunter is set the task of killing Yuuri. Meanwhile, Yuuri is beginning to feel 'differently' about his fiance. Now, the two Mazoku must find a way home before Conrad has them both put to death.

NOTE: The idea is that Wolfram and Yuuri have REPLACED their alternate world selces, and they are on the run from EVIL CONRAD! Waaah~!

Also, might be doing some Lamento and Messiah Edits in the future

Is what I do plagiarism? This is something I've always wondered. Most artists believe that it is in fact plagiarism to take someone else's work and to fiddle wit it. Personally, Idon't agree with this at all, because i can show two examples of precedent, and then give you a slight speel on art philosophy.

The most famous user of other peoples art in their own works was Andy Warhol. I believe that we are all familiar with his work in pop art reduplicating the Heinz Tin Can. Now, he may have gotten permission to use this art, I dunno, but that isn't really the issue.

However, the artists Song Lee has famously used Anime characters (such as Haruhi Suzumiya and Kamui from x/1999) in their art (which is mimicry of warhol's pop art), and it is true that she hasn't got the permission to use this characters. That is because the characters images themselves aren't in fact copywrited, this is why fanart is legal.

Taking this idea to its logical conclusion, one can argue that the use of other's works is a valid expression of one's own creativity.

Me, I don't us other artists works from deviantArt... i limit myself to either official artbook art (which is available to everyone) or doujinshi art (which, being self-published, has no copywrite). Thus, I believe that what I do with most of my edits is ethical and, most importantly, uniquely mine.

Hello minna-san!

An update on my projects listed in my previous journal:

1. Rewrite of RenoxRufus scrapped once more
2. SiriusxRemus Valentines fic will be up on Sunday (two days from now)
3. Togainu no Chi poetry begun
4. Prelim sketches for a write up of my roleplay at yurusu begun

Also, some other random stuff to talk about:

a) Im thinking about finally sitting down and writing some Gravitation one-shots (most likely involving Tatsuha and Ryu, or Eiri and Shu)

b) I downloaded the Lamento ~The World Devoid of Emotion~ OST last night, and the songs in latin (particularly Densho no Shi) really make me happy, coz theys are so GOOD!

c) To those of you who are aware of my difficulties in using Kanji dictionaries: REJOICE! I have now learnt how to recognize the radicals and spent an hour and a half translating the kanji titles of the above OST

d) University books are pretty cool, especially my politics book and my new reference grammar for french. I have also fully mastered hiragana, and am now moving onto katakana! When i get to my first tute im gonna be like "Konichi wa minna-san, watashi no namae wa Tom, yoroshiku o-negai shimasu" and see all the nooBs faces fall off (beware the might of my otaku inspired learning!)

e) Death Note anime is now in JB, so ill pick that up when i finish reading it (WHATS UP, PEOPLE!?).

f) Party tomorrow night, after uni function... i hope its fun.

g) I am still looking for Togainu no Chi doujins. Luckily, i know where to buy the game online (and they ship internationally... but it costs around 60 dollars without posting and handling... and the OST for TnC is expensive too)

h) Final thought: Work starts in two weeks (same as uni)... when i get some money, im buying the next four volumes of gravitation!

Sore ja, mata ne!

So first up, it seems my overambitious plan to draw something for y'all has fallen flat on my face coz i get a psychological block each time i pick up my pencil... so ive decided it would be in my best interests to focus on writing... so im gonna make a quick edit to celebrate my momentous pageviews, and continue writing.

And what am i going to write... well, i have a few ideas that ill run by you.

1) Something based around Togainu no Chi, coz the setting of the post-apocalyptic Japanese capital allows for some awesome poetry (think blood and decay... total lawless-ness)

2) Original work based around something im roleplaying/work-shopping on my Loveless Forum. This one would turn out to be a veritable series, and of course, follows my general themes of *that* kind of love

3) Finally, im thinking of maybe trying to finish off my drabbles, which i unwittingly stopped writing for some reason... its ironic, coz i started drabbling to break writer's block, and now i cant do them! XP

I also re-read my RenoxRufus fic i wrote last year (in february) and am thinking of taking it and totally rewriting it.

Also, expect poetry, most likely based around Togainu no Chi (i dunno why, but this series about pretty boys killing and ... sleeping with... each other seems to fill me with a sense of the poetic... maybe its all the blood and social commentary)

So yeah, thats it from me... i apologise to all who were looking forward to my arts (maybe one day... GAMBARE ORE YO~!)

I think that because of the iminent (?) Squeenix game releases this year, i shall draw something related to either final fantasy or Kingdom hearts

of course, i';m not just gonna draw anybody, so imma gonna do a little poll thingo

also, iwould like to bemoan the fact that my university textbooks cost way too much, and that the Australian liberal party exists
